About
I'm a recent graduate from Birmingham City University and a multidisciplinary print and woven textile designer. I specialise in creating luxury designs with high regard for craftsmanship. As a future thinker, I am able to creatively combine traditional and contemporary printing methods to design sophisticated and interesting outcomes. My work revolves around storytelling and the use of detailed and characterful motifs, which allows me to create detailed narratives.
As I am predominantly a printmaker and surface pattern designer, I have invested significant effort in developing sustainable methods for producing high-quality fabrics and eco-friendly substitutes for the current interior textiles industry.
In my work, nature plays a crucial role as a source of inspiration and reflects my personal interests. My designs showcase a strong country aesthetic, and sensibility towards designing, which often features soft, muted colours, reflecting my admiration for the world. I aim my designs at the mid to high-end interior sector, but I have also produced work for the commercial fashion industry. When creating designs, I enjoy working with watercolours or gouache paints, as well as using inks and collaging materials to achieve visually stunning outcomes. My designs showcase a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary styles, highlighting my strong aesthetic.
My Story
From a very young age, I've always had an interest in being creative and getting outdoors, there's something so wonderful about being able to explore nature. Growing up surrounded by a family of farmers, and experiencing the countryside from a young age, has had a significant impact on my life and work. Combining my passions, I pursued a degree that has allowed me to bring my textile visions to life. Through my artistic abilities, I have designed products that are stocked in renowned companies like John Lewis, RNLI, and The National Trust, despite still being a full-time student. I am excited about the opportunities that await me in my career to come.
